In what might be the strangest thing we've seen in a long time, a British doctor has issued a statement warning against putting bath bombs inside you.

This comes after Lush released an aubergine shaped bath bomb as part of their cheeky Valentine's Day collection.

Dr Vanessa Mackay, spokesperson for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, said: "We would strongly discourage the use of bath bombs internally as these could disturb the fragile balance of good bacteria inside the vagina.

"This natural flora helps to protect the vagina and disrupting it could lead to irritation, inflammation and infection, such as bacterial vaginosis or thrush.

"Women are advised to use plain, unperfumed soaps to wash the area around the vagina (the vulva), not inside it, gently every day."

The Aubergine bath bomb is available from Lush for £3.95, or as part of a larger set if you want something more impressive for your loved one.
