Want to enjoy a Christmas-themed coffee to keep you warm during the festive season, or maybe you're looking to mix up your holiday hot chocolate? We've got you covered with these five Christmas twists!

Nutmeg and Orange Coffee

Add a cinnamon stick, 2 pitted dates, a pinch of ground nutmeg, two cloves and some orange zest into a cafetiere with four scoops of ground coffee. Pour freshly boiled water over the mixture, stir gently to combine, and leave to brew. Push the plunger down and serve!

Triple Choc Hot Chocolate

Heat 150ml of whole milk in a small saucepan until it simmers and then add 50g of chopped milk chocolate and 25g of chopped dark chocolate and stir until melted. Pour into a mug and top with whipped cream and mini white chocolate buttons to serve.

Irish Coffee

How could I make a list of festive hot drinks without an alcoholic coffee?! To make an Irish coffee, pour freshly brewed coffee into a mug or heatproof glass, add 50ml of Irish whiskey and a teaspoon of brown sugar.

Stir until the sugar has dissolved and very carefully float two tablespoons of whipped double cream on the top. Sprinkle with grated nutmeg and serve warm.

Salted Caramel Rum Hot Chocolate

I know I said there was only going to be one alcoholic drink, but this is too tasty to leave out! Mix together 25ml of dark rum and two teaspoons of dulce de leche or thick caramel until smooth.

Warm 150ml of whole milk in a saucepan until it simmers, add 50g of chopped milk chocolate and stir until melted. Add the rum and caramel mixture, a pinch of sea salt, and pour into a mug to serve.

Christmas Spice Latte

To make a festive spice mix, add 40g of ground cinnamon, 30g of ground coriander, two teaspoons of nutmeg, a teaspoon of ground ginger, a quarter of a teaspoon of ground cloves, the zest of one orange and one lemon, two teaspoons of brown sugar, and one teaspoon of sea salt into a bowl and mix thoroughly.

This can be used for a variety of things so don’t panic and think it all needs to be used for coffees! For the latte, heat 200ml of milk in a pan with a teaspoon of the festive spice mix and whisk until frothy. Add mixture to coffee and garnish with a pinch of festive spice!
